The Apostle Paul writes to Philemon commending him on his love and faith towards Jesus Christ and the saints. He rejoices in the way that Philemon’s faith is growing and overflows into the lives of others. And, based on Philemon’s faith in Christ, Paul makes an appeal to Philemon to receive back a man named Onesimus. Onesimus was a former slave of Philemon who fled at some point in the past, but has also come to faith in Christ and was very useful to Paul in Ministry. May we grow in our love for one another and rejoice in our common faith in Christ!
