Ephesians is a letter written by Paul to the church in the city of Ephesus.  The first two verses form the greeting of this letter.  We notice Paul’s description of himself as an apostle of Christ Jesus.  He was a messenger sent out by the will of God to serve Jesus and represent Jesus wherever he goes.  He writes to the church and describes them as saints who are faithful in Christ.  This phrase, “In Christ” in many ways is the theme throughout this letter.  Paul wants the believers in Ephesus to know who they are “in Christ”, which is important for us to know as well.  We have been chosen in Christ, Redeemed in Christ, Sanctified in Christ, Strengthened in Christ, United in Christ, and so much more.
