Advent means “a coming into place”, and so as we celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ being born into this world, we call it Advent.  The Advent season begins four Sundays before Christmas and concludes on Christmas Eve.  This year on each Sunday of Advent, we will consider a reason why Jesus came, so that as we celebrate the birth, life, death, resurrection, ascension, and return of Christ in victory we have a deeper understanding of what Christ has accomplished for us.
